American Sign Language (ASL) is one of the most common languages in the United States and is the language most embraced by the Deaf community. ASL can be used in many settings – in your job, in a school, and in social situations.
Classes are taught by The Children’s Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf professionals who focus on basic vocabulary, fingerspelling, strategies to use with Deaf adults and children, incorporating facial expression into communication, Deaf culture, and basic grammatical structures.
Classes run one day per week for 8 week sessions and generally run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and are designed for participants ages 16 and up.
