Family Sign Language Program

The Children’s Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf provides training programs for families of the students enrolled in CCC/BSD programs.  American Sign Language classes are offered to families as part of that training component.

ASL classes are taught by The Children’s Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf professionals who focus on basic vocabulary, fingerspelling, strategies to use with Deaf adults and children, incorporating facial expression into communication, Deaf culture, and basic grammatical structures.  Classes are catered to meet the needs of all families.

Classes are simultaneously offered to caregivers and siblings while childcare is provided for the students.  Tuition is free for the first 2 CCC/BSD participants per session. Classes run on Saturdays for 6 week sessions, and generally run from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Sessions run 3 times per year.
